New Ink Cartridges or Have the Old Ones Refilled?

Since virtually every family now has a computer and printer in their homes, sooner or later the ink cartridges need to be replaced. No matter what the make or manufacturer of your home printer, it will go through ink fast, depending on its use.

Laser ink cartridges tend to last longer than ink jet, but the majority of home users use ink jet. Since ink jet printers are less expensive and very user friendly most people like them. If you use your printer to occasionally print out a boarding pass or receipt for personal use, most black ink cartridges will last a few months. If you are in school or have children in school who print out typed reports and notes, the ink will go very fast.

The average black replacement cartridge is about 18, color 35. That can add up quickly. Obtaining refilled ones online or in stores is a reasonable alternative. The ink cartridges are recycled and simply refilled. They are then sold for approximately half the cost of the new manufacturer’s cartridges. How about the print quality? You wouldn’t know the difference.

Now you can go “green” by recycling your used plastic ink cartridges and save money.
